Agriculture practices shall be incorporated <br /> into the bank or mitigation area to produce <br /> crop types such as but not limited to: <br /> alfalfa, dry pasture or native grasslands with <br /> little to no grazing, disced fields with hedge <br /> rows left approximately every 100 feet, and <br /> tomato/beet/row crop fields, or other crops <br /> which are compatible for foraging Swainson's <br /> hawks.- <br /> 4. <br /> awks:4. Fee title to land or permanent conservation <br /> easements obtained for the Department of Fish <br /> and Game, or its designee. <br /> 5. Management and operation plans must be <br /> incorporated with the mitigation plan and <br /> implemented by the project proponent prior to <br /> project construction. <br /> 6. Project proponent would be responsible for <br /> the successful establishment of Swainson's <br /> hawk nesting/foraging areas in perpetuity. <br /> Monitoring programs will require an annual <br /> written review submitted to the DFG for the <br /> first 5 years, and thereafter written reviews <br /> will be required every 3-5 years for private <br /> mitigation projects. <br /> III. Restoration of Swainson's hawk population. <br /> 1. Support and acquire funding to continue research related to <br /> breeding success, contaminates, dispersal, movement, mortality, <br /> habitat use, and other identified research needs. Responsibility: <br /> DFG Nongame Bird and Mammal Section. <br /> 2. Development and completion of a Habitat Conservation Plan and <br /> a Recovery Plan. Responsibility: DFG Nongame Bird and Mammal <br /> Section. <br /> 3. Coordinate with local agencies for long term planning to <br /> maintain sufficient quality habitat for Swainson's hawks. <br /> Responsibility: DFG Nongame Bird and Mammal Section and <br /> Regional Environmental Services staff. <br />
