3.0 METHODS <br /> As previously specified, BioSystems Analysis was contracted to conduct the following scope of <br /> work: (1) resurvey specified areas; (2) relocate and rerecord previously identified prehistoric <br /> sites; and, (3) conduct soil chemical analyses to determine prehistoric archaeological site <br /> boundaries. It is qualified that BioSystems was not asked to survey septic tank locations, utility <br /> easements, laydown and construction staging areas, the golf course, clubhouse roadways or other <br /> features of the Buckeye Ranch Project. Biosystems was also not asked to record or rerecord <br /> historic archaeological sites. <br /> 3.1 SURVEY <br /> Archaeological survey was conducted at the following specified residential lot locations: 1, 6, <br /> 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 25, and 26 (Lot locations are depicted on <br /> Map 13). The entire southern half of the project area was also examined in order to resolve <br /> issues regarding the locations of previously recorded sites and known but unrecorded sites. <br /> Map 6 indicates the survey coverage. These areas were inspected by qualified archaeologists <br /> walking in linear transects, with spacing intervals of approximately 20 meters. <br /> 3.2 SITE RECORDING <br /> The primary goal of the current field study was to record archaeological sites identified during <br /> the previous archaeological survey and delineate site limits in order to develop and consider <br /> alternatives for the Buckeye Ranch Project. Methods for delineating site boundaries included <br /> variable combinations of ground surface clearing, surface inspection for archaeological materials <br /> and anthrosols, scraping of surface soils, and occasionally passing surface soils through 3mm <br /> mesh screen.
