Prehistoric [X] Historic [ ] Protohistoric [ ] <br /> 9. Site Description: This site consists of a midden soil containing shell and bone fragments, <br /> and debitage. Three large depressions. roughly circular with rounded or bowl-shaped <br /> bottoms are present, and may represent the remains of semi-subterranean structures. The <br /> site datum is a single large oak tree. <br /> i <br /> 10. Area 15 m (N-S) by 88 m (E-Vi); 1037 m2 <br /> Method of Determination: Compass and taping with boundaries determined based on <br /> presence of shell and checked with carbonate testing. <br /> 11. Depth: unknown Method of Determination: <br /> 12. Features: Depression A = 14 m diameter, 35 cm depth. Depression B = 20 m diameter, <br /> 70 cm depth. Depression C is less distinct, measuring approximately 10 meters diameter <br /> and 25 cm in depth. These depressions may represent the remains of semi-subterranean <br /> structures. A couple of smaller and shallower depressions (average lm x 25 cm depth) are <br /> also present. These may represent disturbance due to pothunting in the past.
