ASSOCIATES <br /> PRELIMINARY SOIL REPORT <br /> BUCKEYE RANCH <br /> Forest Lake Road <br /> San Joaquin County, California <br /> L & a No. 90-190 <br /> August 17, 1990 <br /> IN'T'RODUCTION <br /> i <br /> Purpose <br /> A preliminary soils investigation has been completed for the proposed Buckeye Ranch <br /> development in San Joaquin County, California. This investigation was conducted to <br /> evaluate soil and ground water conditions at the site and to provide geotechnical <br /> recommendations for use in design of the proposed development. <br /> Scope <br /> This investigation includes the drilling of 9 test borings within areas of the project <br /> designated for residential housing, 6 test borings within the lake beds and 2 test borings <br /> at the proposed bridge crossing. Borings were drilled to maximum depths of 59 feet <br /> below existing site grade. Additional work performed to complete this study includes <br /> laboratory testing conducted upon selected soil samples recovered from the borings, <br /> engineering analyses and the preparation of this report. <br /> Test boring locations are shown on Plate No. 1. The boring logs and results of <br /> laboratory tests are displayed on Plates No. 2 through 8. An explanation of the symbols <br /> and classification system used on the logs appears on Plate No. 9. Appendix A contains <br /> information of a general nature regarding project concepts, descriptions of our field <br /> exploration and further laboratory test results. <br /> Proposed Construction <br /> i It is our understanding that the project totals 870 acres and that it is proposed to <br /> I construct 26 one-acre lots along with an 18-hole championship golf course with club <br /> house. Additional improvements will include a bridge over the Mokelumne River, <br /> 1 construction of interior roadways and a 20 to 25-foot tall embankment will be constructed <br /> 1 across Tracy Lake on which housing and roadways will be supported. Other design <br /> features include decreasing the permeability of the soils at the two lakes for increased <br /> water retention, installation of underground utilities such as electrical lines, leach lines <br /> �3 <br /> and septic systems. <br /> 1 <br /> iP.O.
