ASSOCIATES <br /> APPENDIX A <br /> GENERAL INFORMATION <br /> A preliminary geotechnical investigation for the proposed Buckeye Ranch Development <br /> was authorized by Joe DiChristina on June 8, 1990. This study has been conducted in <br /> accordance with LOWRY & associates' proposal letter dated May 16, 1990 and the fully <br /> executed agreement between Robertson Homes and LOWRY & associates dated June 8, <br /> 1990. <br /> The civil engineering consultant is Kjeldsen-Sinnock & Associates, 1113 West Fremont <br /> Street, Stockton, California, (209) 946-0268; Bob Belt is the coordinating civil engineer. <br /> The locations of our test borings are referenced to a preliminary site plan entitled: <br /> "BUCKEYE RANCH" (dated April 1990; scale: 1" = 400') prepared by <br /> Kjeldsen-Sinnock & Associates, Inc., 1113 West Fremont Street, Stockton, <br /> California <br /> Boring locations and boring elevations shown on the Boring Location Plan are to be <br /> considered approximate only. Elevations shown on the Boring Location Plan were <br /> 1 interpolated to the nearest foot from the topographic details shown on the above <br /> referenced site plan. <br /> Site conditions and features mentioned in the text are those existing at the time of our <br /> field investigation on June 13 through July 6, 1990 and may not necessarily be <br /> representative of such conditions or features at other locations and times. <br /> I <br /> 1 <br /> FIELD EXPLORATION <br /> Field exploration included the drilling of 17 borings at the locations shown on the Boring <br /> Location Plan, Plate No. 1. The borings were advanced with 4-1r2-inch diameter <br /> continuous flight helical augers powered by a CME-55 truck-mounted drill rig. At <br /> various intervals, relatively undisturbed soil samples were recovered from the borings by <br /> means of a 2-1I2-inch O.D.-2-inch I.D. California-type sampler which was driven with a <br /> 140-pound hammer freely falling 30 inches. The number of blows of the hammer <br /> required to drive the 24-inch long sampler each 6-inch interval was recorded, with the <br /> sum of blows required to drive the sampler the middle foot (6-inch to 18-inch interval) of <br /> each drive denoted the penetration resistance or 'blow count" for that particular drive. <br /> f <br />
