For the "Setting"portion of this chapter, Jones & Stokes Associates will perform the
following tasks:
■ review the preliminary soil report for Buckeye Ranch as prepared by Lowry &
Associates (dated August 17, 1990),
■ discuss the topography of the project site, including the proposed bridge crossing
location of the Mokelumne River and the haul route(s),
■ describe the seismicity characteristics of the project area,
■ describe the soil types and soil characteristics, and
■ summarize the groundwater information as it relates to soil types.
The "Impacts" portion of this chapter will include review of Lowry & Associates'
report to determine the risks attributable to seismic activity, impacts related to soil
expansion, soil erosion, potential settlement; and recommendations for site preparation,
residential foundations, bridge abutment foundations, and embankment construction.
Mitigation measures will be based primarily on the information provided by Lowry &
Associates as reviewed and coordinated with other environmental issues such as soil erosion,
bridge construction, and habitat restoration.
Kleinfelder will perform a limited septic suitability study to satisfy the San Joaquin
County Ordinance No. 3323, Chapter 2, Section 9-10100, Item C.
