Characterizations and Studies of Significant Natural Communities. Analyzes <br /> and characterizes vernal pool, freshwater marsh, riparian, alkaline meadow, <br /> valley oak woodland, and native bunchgrass communities. Interprets aerial <br /> photography for vegetation mapping. Field experience in Alameda, Butte, <br /> Contra Costa, El Dorado, Humboldt, Placer, Sacramento, Solano, Sonoma, <br /> and Yolo Counties. <br /> EIP Associates. Wetland botanist. Delineated wetlands and collected, classified, and <br /> recorded all plant species associated with vernal pools. Assisted in mapping vernal <br /> pools and establishing guidelines for plant species used as vernal pool indicators. <br /> Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center. Aquatic invertebrate sampler. <br /> Collected, sorted, and identified aquatic invertebrates for avian botulism studies at <br /> the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge, Willow, California. Cared for and <br /> disposed of diseased waterfowl (lead poisoning, avian cholera, avian botulism). <br /> Humboldt State University <br /> HSU Herbarium. Herbarium technician. Collected, classified, and sorted <br /> plants for the herbarium collection. <br /> HSU Aquaculture Ponds. Fisheries maintenance trainee. Fed and tagged <br /> fish; analyzed water quality; recorded statistical data; and repaired ponds, <br /> pumps, nets, and fences. <br /> Scripps Institute of Oceanography. Marine biologist technician. Conducted research <br /> on marine fauna by collecting and analyzing sediment samples from the continental <br /> shelf of San Diego Bay. <br /> Roy Helm Landscaping. Landscaper. Used native vegetation to improve wildlife <br /> habitat on several 5- to 10-acre plots in the Sierra Nevada foothills. <br />
