Prepares legally required biological assessments and conducts agency consultations to determine and document actions to be taken to avoid jeopardy to endangered species. Completed consultations on many projects, including water storage reservoirs, hydroelectric and radar facilities, transmission lines, bank protection, and residential developments. Water and Power Project Assessments. Conducts evaluations of biological impacts of water storage projects. Past projects included the 24,000-acre Los Vaqueros Reservoir area project and the 20,000-acre Bedford Delta Islands water storage project. Analyzed major issues,including impacts on waterfowl, endangered species, raptors, and deer. Conducted siting analysis, impact assessment, and mitigation planning for the 3,340-mile, 500-kV California- Oregon transmission line and the 18-mile, 230-kV Livermore direct service transmission line.
