Environmental Documents. Prepared numerous Exhibit E documents for <br /> Federal Energy Regulatory Commission hydroelectric project license <br /> applications. Managed the preparation of environmental impact documents <br /> related to water resource development. Developed Instream Beneficial Use <br /> Assessments and mitigation plans to protect aquatic resources. <br /> Wild and Scenic Rivers. Project manager for an investigation of the eligibility <br /> and suitability of more than 100 miles of the West Walker, East Carson, and <br /> McCloud Rivers for inclusion in the California Wild and Scenic Rivers System <br /> for The Resources Agency of California. The study, encompassing six reports, <br /> was the first of its kind in California. Conducted many public presentations <br /> and participated in legislative hearings. <br /> Oscar Larson & Associates. Staff fisheries biologist. Conducted field research and <br /> permit preparation in connection with numerous hydroelectric projects within <br /> California. Major responsibilities included investigating flow reduction impacts to <br /> aquatic resources, developing instream flow studies, evaluating fishery and habitat <br /> resources, formulating management and mitigation strategies, and serving as a liaison <br /> between federal, state, and private entities. Regularly made major contributions to <br /> environmental impact reports and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission license <br /> applications. <br /> U. S. Forest Service. Research fisheries biologist. Designed and implemented <br /> research on the status of anadromous salmonids in Grider Creek, California. <br /> Primary responsibilities included salmon and steelhead spawning stock surveys, <br /> juvenile salmonid production estimates, water quality and spawning gravel <br /> assessments, and monthly flow duration curve construction. Developed a predictive <br /> stream discharge model and conducted comprehensive statistical analyses to support <br /> management recommendations. <br /> Humboldt State University. Research associate. Planned and conducted several <br /> research studies of adult summer steelhead trout. Correlated geomorphic <br /> characteristics of drainage basins with steelhead densities,using multivariate statistics. <br /> Designed and implemented field research on steelhead migration behavior and <br /> holding habitat. Performed steelhead population and habitat inventories throughout <br /> northern California. Assisted in the preparation of a summer steelhead management <br /> plan. Compiled and computerized a database consisting of over 350 steelhead <br /> references. <br /> Ecological Analysts. Research technician. Analyzed water quality samples and <br /> identified marine fauna impinged and entrained at the Humboldt Bay Power Plant. <br /> Fish and invertebrate specimens were identified, measured, weighed, and checked <br /> for parasites. <br />
