The river site (CA-SJO-0043) extends beyond the project area to the east. San Joaquin
County personnel should take note of this if the area is to be developed beyond its
historic farming use.
A survey of the proposed access road south of the river should be completed to avoid
impact to the two sites previously recorded in the vicinity.
All areas that are considered of high archaeological sensitivity should be under the
protection of a third party professional organization.
All areas of high sensitivity should be fenced during construction activities.
Residents of the project should be informed of the significance of the area and alerted to
the potential vandalism which occurs with archaeological sites.
DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME (,Letter dated 6/15/93)
VALLEY ELDERBERRY LONGHORN BEETLE
Avoid, preserve, and enhance Valley Elderberry Longhorn Beetles and their habitats
whenever possible.
A wildlife goal for the Buckeye Ranch project is to establish two distinct Valley
Elderberry Longhorn Beetle sanctuaries on the property: an approximately 15 acre
site within the live oak forest and another 10 acres within the live oak restoration
area.
