FEB 6 1991 <br /> N t- <br /> Li <br /> M <br /> W NG <br /> Kerry Sullivan C Q <br /> Community Development <br /> County of San Joaquin <br /> 1810 Hazelton Avenue <br /> Stockton, California 95205 <br /> Staff for The Reclamation Board has reviewed the Notice of Preparation <br /> of a draft Environmental Impact Report for the Buckeye Ranch Project <br /> (SCH 91012103) and has the following comments. <br /> The proposed project, which would consist of the construction of twenty- <br /> one homes and an eighteen-hole golf course, is located adjacent to the <br /> Mokelumne River. The Mokelumne River Designated Floodway is up to 1,500 feet <br /> wide in this area, mostly on the project side of the river. <br /> The Board's regulations prohibit the construction of houses intended for <br /> permanent human occupation in the designated floodway. In addition, a permit <br /> is required for all construction work, including grading, filling, and vegeta- <br /> tion removal or .planting of new vegetation in the designated floodway. New <br /> roads and bridges across the Mokelumne River, for example, would therefore <br /> require encroachment permits from the Board. <br /> Designated floodway maps are available for inspection at the Board's <br /> office at the above address. <br /> For more information concerning the environmental review, please contact <br /> Annalena Bronson at (916) 322-3740.
