STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> THE RESOURCES AGENCY <br /> THE RECLAMATION BOARD <br /> 1416 Ninth Street, Room 455-4 <br /> Sacramento, CA 95814 <br /> Telephone ( 916) 44x_,-3-25 <br /> GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING APPLICATIONS FOR PERMITS <br /> These instructions will provide you with information on preparing <br /> your application to The Reclamation Board for a permit. <br /> Approval by The Reclamation Board is required for works or uses <br /> that encroach into rivers and waterways contained by Federal and <br /> State authorized flood control projects , and within designated <br /> floodways adopted by the Board. You must obtain Board approval <br /> before you begin construction work on any proposed work or uses <br /> within flood control project areas or designated floodways . <br /> The Board exercises jurisdiction over the levee section , the water- <br /> ward area between project levees , a ten-foot-wide strip adjacent to <br /> the landward levee toe , and within designated floodways adopted by <br /> the Board. Maps of designated floodways are available for inspec- <br /> tion at the Board ' s offices in Sacramento, city and county planning <br /> or public works departments , and county recorders offices . Ques- <br /> tions relative to proposed works or uses that may require Board <br /> approval should be directed to the Board' s offices at 1416 Ninth <br /> Street, Room 455-4, Sacramento, CA 95814, telephone <br /> ( 916) 445-9225 . <br /> Four copies of the completed application and attachments and one <br /> completed copy of the Environmental Questionnaire must be <br /> submitted. The application must be made on forms provided by The <br /> Reclamation Board and must contain the following information: <br /> 1. A concise written description of the proposed works . <br /> 2. The county , section, township, and range in which the proposed <br /> works or uses are located. <br /> 3 . Name, address , and telephone number of applicant and agent when <br /> used. <br /> 4. Endorsement must be obtained from the reclamation, levee , or <br /> flood control district responsible for levee maintenance . The <br /> district may also require special conditions. <br /> If the maintaining district delays or declines to endorse the <br /> application, the application may be submitted to the Board without <br /> endorsement with a written explanation why the application was not <br /> endorsed by the maintaining district . <br /> III-18 <br />
