Page 3 - 18 Known sites must be tested to determine the extent and type of contents, plus depth, integrity, age, and intrasite patterning (e.g. in depth, horizontal extent and artifact density),as follows... C164 The testing methodology proposed is neither technically appropriate or necessary. Sufficient testing should be done on sites that would actually be disturbed to enable avoiding disturbance of those sites and providing for their preservation. Known sites which are not to be disturbed need not be tested by the developer. Paae 3 - 19 A survey of the proposed access road south of the river should be completed to avoid impact to the two sites previously recorded in the vicinity. For your information,the trail is adjacent to the levee that was constructed from dirt excavated from the area where the existing trail is located. Therefore,any potential archaeological artifacts in this area have previously be disturbed. Paae 4.1 - 1 Existina Land Use The Environmental Impact Report author states ...Ray Road, all located about one-half mile south of the C168 site. Ray Road is actually 2-3 miles away from the site. _J Page 4.1 - 2 The map is incorrect.the north portion of the site was not cleared and the oxbow is a natural geological feature.
