BUCKEYE RANCH PROJECT
March 27 , 1992 Page 2
LTS
In addition, litigation measure 4 . 1 - 1 (B ) seems a severe
step when many golf courses are providing some of the- finest
C264 habitats for bird populations in both urban and country
settings. While I am not an expert on birds, I do know that
a golf course can be maintained through natural predator/prey
control measures without the use of rodenticides. The
overall animal habitat can be enhanced through proper
Tanning.
As a final note , by following integrated pest management
C265 (IPM) programs , the golf course can significantly reduce the
amounts of fertilizers and pesticides used on the golf
course . Some golf courses report as much as 30% less -
*Pplications with no appreciable reduction in playing
quality.
Although the USGA may be slanted for the game of golf, we
also understand that our industry, as a whole , needs to
improve when addressing the environment. The Buckeye Ranch
project can be an excellent example of yet another success
story and I trust the preceding comments will be helpful in
the decision-making process.
Should you have any further questions concerning golf
courses, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Sincerely,
Larry W.
