The Laboratory <br /> Committee provides a split of a municipal waste to all <br /> laboratories that request it and specifies the analysis to be <br /> done. Results are submitted and published by the Laborat-ry <br /> CDmmittee. <br /> Sequoia has also participated in the annual EFA DMR <br /> performance evaluation samole program since 1982. The <br /> results are supplied to clients with N.P.D.E.S. permits that <br /> request the results. <br /> INTERNAL AUDITS <br /> Performance audits are done every quarter for every analyst. <br /> fThe quality assurance officer reviews the analyst's notebook <br /> o documentation of all quality control measurements, their <br /> quency, and the clarity of the documentation (Figure 14) . <br /> The notebook must be useful to any person who wishes to <br /> Inspect the history of the analysis. Analysts must also have <br /> equipment logs, repair manuals, and adequate tools to keep <br /> instruments calibrated. The analyst's data reporting <br /> procedures are also reviewed to ensure that results can be <br /> — easily traced to a notebook. The results of a system audit <br /> are discussed with the analyst and kept on file. If any <br /> discrepancies are noted, a follow-up audit is scheduled <br /> shortly thereafter. <br /> 15 <br />
