The site conditions at the time of USTEC's assessment including the location of the <br /> buildings, the former USTs, product delivery piping, vent piping, and Fuel dispensers are <br /> presented on Figure 2. <br /> I <br /> 1.2 SITE HISTORY <br /> The facility at 1100 Wilson Way was abandoned by CCE in April 1990. The USTs were removed <br /> as part of the abandonment procedures for the site. Two steel USTs formerly existed at the site; <br /> } <br /> one 10,000-gallon diesel UST and one 1,000--gallon gasoline UST. The diesel UST was reportedly <br /> installed in 1978 and the gasoline UST was installed in 1937. <br /> i <br /> 2.0 PREVIOUS INVESTIGA'T'IONS <br /> r This section summarizes the previous investigations conducted at the site. <br /> i <br /> 1 <br /> 2.1 PRELIMINARY UST INVESTIGATION <br /> The excavation and removal of the 10,000-gallon and 1,000-gallon USTs,fuel dispensers,and the <br /> associated product delivery and vent piping was conducted by Crisp Construction of Visalia, <br /> California,on April 19,1990 under the supervision of Quinn and Quinn Enterprises,Inc.(QQE), <br /> also of Visalia,California. Environmental support for the UST removal was provided by USTEC. <br /> USTEC personnel collected a total of four soil samples during the UST removal operations. One <br /> soil sample was collected at a depth of 2 feet below the tank invert at each end of both USTs. <br /> The samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in accordance with <br /> Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) method 8015 modified for diesel and gasoline. In <br /> addition,samples were analyzed for the aromatic hydrocarbons;benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene, <br /> and xylenes (BTEX) in accordance with EPA method 8020. <br /> 2 <br /> .a <br /> a <br /> _ F <br />
