VVAPS
Working To Restore Nature
Addendum One to Remedial Action Plan March 1, 1993
Coca-Cola Former Distribution Facility, Stockton, California 54006.01
' Task 1, va or Extraction Test and Report
The purpose of this task is to provide engineering information to the design engineers,
including design vapor flows, design vacuum, vapor concentrations, and the effective radius
of influence. Eight existing wells were tested during the vapor extraction test which was
conducted in November 1992, and 10 air samples were collected and submitted with a Chain
' of Custody Record for laboratory analysis of TPHg and BTEX. This task is completed. The
report of the results (RESNA, January 1993) has been prepared and was submitted to the
regulatory agencies listed at the end of this report, for review, comment, and approval.
Task 2. Addendum One to the Remedial Action Plan
' This report, Addendum One to the Remedial Action Plan, describes the proposed soil
remedial action to be implemented, and the proposed scope of work to accomplish soil
' remediation, including the engineering design, permitting, construction, and proposed
operation, maintenance and compliance monitoring of the soil remediation system to be
installed at this site. A preliminary schedule of the proposed work, and a brief summary of
previous environmental work conducted at the site is also included. This Addendum One
will be submitted for review, comment, and approval of the regulatory agencies involved in
the project and listed at the end of this report.
' Task 3. Quazterly Groundwater Monitorin
' At the request of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD),
RESNA resumed quarterly groundwater monitoring at the site on December 17, 1992. All
samples were preserved as necessary for the required analyses, and were delivered to a State
' Certified laboratory with a Chain of Custody Record. Laboratory results are generally
available within about 2 to 3 weeks, and a draft report is generally sent to the client for
their review and comment within about 2 to 3 weeks after that.
' Ther
p oposed quarterly monitoring plan was previously submitted to the SJCEHD (RESNA,
November 249 1992). The plan includes quarterly depth to water measurements in all six
existing groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-6). These measurements will
be used to evaluate the groundwater gradient and flow direction beneath the site. All field
' work will be conducted in accordance with the Site Safety Plan (RESNA, November 1992).
The proposed sampling plan included purging and sampling of three existing wells (MW-1,
MW-2, and MW-6). MW-1 and MW-2 are adjacent to the former location of the
underground gasoline storage tank, and MW-6 is downgra.dient from the UST. The
9
1
