All facility communications or alarm systems, fire protection equipment, spill control equipment, and <br /> decontamination equipment, where required, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to assure its proper <br /> operation in time of emergency. Immediately begin this practice. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 404 CCR 66262.34(4)(2) Failed to inspect hazardous waste storage areas at least weekly. <br /> Hazardous waste containers are not inspected weekly. The employee John Miller confirmed that the facility hazardous <br /> waste containers are inspected at least monthly. Hazardous waste container storage and transfer areas shall be <br /> inspected weekly for leaking containers and for deterioration of containers and the containment system caused by <br /> corrosion and other factors. Immediately begin conducting the necessary weekly inspections for all hazardous waste <br /> containers at this facility. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br /> At the hazardous waste storage area is a 55 gallon drum that is approximately 75% full of used oil and has an <br /> accumulation start date of 6-23-15. Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do <br /> not exceed 6000 kg of waste stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Immediately contact <br /> a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the <br /> EHD. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 608 CCR 66266.130 Failed to properly manage used oil and fuel filters. <br /> At the hazardous waste storage area is a partially full 55 gallon drum of drained used oil filters that was not marked <br /> with an accumulation start date. Used oil filters shall be drained of free-flowing oil, stored in a closed, rainproof <br /> container, labeled as "drained used oil filters," and marked with an accumulation start date. Immediately mark the <br /> accumulation start date on the drum of drained used oil filters and ensure that all used oil filters are managed in this <br /> way. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class Il. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> On site to conduct a routine hazardous waste inspection. <br /> Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form to the EHD with a statement <br /> documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each violation, and any supporting <br /> paperwork, by 6-12-16. <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br />
