A hazardous waste determination has not yet been made <br />about the sand blast waste. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a <br />hazardous waste. Immediately stop disposing of the sand blast waste in the trash, make a hazardous <br />waste determination for the sand blast waste, and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste <br />regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste will be <br />managed by 10-28-10. Minor -notice to comply. <br />#15 There is spilled oil in the secondary containment pallet spill control equipment for the used oil/filter <br />storage drums. All facility spill control equipment shall be maintained as necessary to assure its proper <br />operation in time of emergency. Correct immediately by removing the spilled oil and placing it into the <br />used oil drum and ensuring that all facility spill control equipment is maintained to assure its proper <br />operation in time of emergency. Minor -notice to comply. <br />#20 The green 55 gallon drum of used oil was not labeled and the white 55 gallon drum of used oil was <br />lacking an accumulation start date. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following <br />information: <br />1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br />2. name and address of generator <br />3. hazardous properties <br />4. physical state <br />5. composition (contents) <br />6. accumulation start date <br />Rosemary Gamblin corrected this on site by labeling these containers completely and correctly. <br />Continue to ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the required information. <br />Class 2 repeat violation. <br />#23(3) The 55 gallon drum of drained used oil filters was not labeled as drained used oil filters and was <br />left open. The drained used oil filters must be accumulated, stored, and transferred in a closed, <br />rainproof container that is capable of containing any used oil that may separate from the filters placed <br />inside. Containers shall be labelled as "drained used oil filters" and show initial date of accumulation. <br />Rosemary Gamblin corrected this on site by labeling this container as drained used oil filters. The drum <br />was closed during the inspection. Continue to ensure that the container of drained used filters remains <br />properly labeled, marked with the accumulation start date, and kept closed.
