If possible, monitor entrances from <br />CCTV. <br />• When possible notify District and Regional Loss Prevention. <br />• Partner with the appropriate leadership to determine if the unit shall remain open or closed for <br />business. <br />• Make a public announcement via over head paging system stating the following: <br />"Due to a disruption in the mall/parking lot and for your safety, we will be closing the <br />entrances to the store. If the location of the threat <br />within the store is known, customers and associates should be notified during the page <br />to avoid those areas." <br />• LP should attempt to locate the suspect involved via CCTV system. If the suspect is armed, <br />inform 911 dispatch. <br />• Have all associates immediately exit the store moving away from the area of the threat. <br />Associate Response to Event <br />• Call 911 to get emergency services assistance. <br />• Stay on the line with the operator/dispatcher and provide as much information as possible. <br />• Advise the operator/dispatcher if medical services are needed. <br />• Get out of the area and away from the immediate threat and if possible, alert others in the <br />immediate area about the current situation. Assist customers to a safe location away from the <br />shooter. <br />Response to Potentially Violent Criminal Behavior <br />If you see or know that a person has a firearm in the store or if you hear shots fired, or if you <br />witness an armed person shooting people, protect yourself first and move to a safe location. <br />As soon as possible, call the police by dialing 911. <br />
