• Keep current of weather nditions in the area and internal temp re inside the facility. <br />• During extremely cold wWher, check equipment that is vulnerabl o freezing temperatures. <br />• Contact Facilities and/or Maintenance immediately when loss of heat may affect property <br />and/or equipment. <br />• Consider tagging vital equipment "susceptible to freezing" as a reminder. <br />Facilities <br />Coordinate with mall management, operations, QMT or the landlord as appropriate. <br />• Inspect roofs and roof drains for excessive snow loading. Ensure drains are clear of debris or <br />ice. �- <br />e <br />• Sprinkler systems may become impaired from freezing weather. If so, follow the Fire <br />Suppression System/Malfunction section of the EAP and contact Facilities immediately.° <br />• Request QMT's to check roof weakness / assess capacity for snow loading <br />• Request QMT's to remove ceiling tiles in any/all areas adjacent to cold exterior walls -- <br />• Monitor snow levels on the roof <br />• Arrange for snow removal (contractor, etc.) <br />• Inspect drains <br />Facility Heating <br />• Maintain heat a minimum of 10 degrees above freezing <br />• Maintain heat to areas that are normally closed <br />• Inspect the buildings exterior <br />• Check doors for proper weather stripping/proofing <br />• Check outside dampers to prevent them from becoming frozen <br />During► an Event <br />Storm or Severe Winter Weather Emergency <br />• Monitor Weather by radio or TV <br />• Determine whether to Shelter in Place or Evacuate the Facility <br />• Use the "one" of the Public Announcements listed below <br />Mandatory Evacuation is re uiq red by local authorities <br />First PA announcement <br />"Facility Evacuation Alert, we must evacuate the facility. "Associates please direct customers <br />to the closest exit. " All emergency exits are marked above the door by a lighted exit <br />sign. " (REPEAT) <br />Second PA announcement <br />"Associates must secure all monies and other forms of payment in cash drawers. (REPEAT) <br />During Cold Weather (Single digit temperatures and below) <br />Below are some collected "Best Practices" for locations experiencing unusually cold weather (low <br />single digits and below zero).
