If there is enough time, <br />contact the vendor to pick them up. Secure combustible items such as propane as far away <br />from the facility as possible. <br />' Relocate all items located outside that can add to the fire including wood piles, lawn furniture, <br />barbecue grills, tarp coverings, and move the items inside. <br />' Seek assistance from QMT to close all openings into the facility including vents, windows and <br />doors. If equipped close all shutters, blinds or heavy non-combustible window coverings to <br />reduce radiant heat. <br />' Shut off any natural gas, propane or fuel oil supplies at the source. <br />' Connect garden hoses and fill pools, hot tubs, garbage cans, tubs or any other large <br />containers with water to have on hand to extinguish small fires. <br />' If you have gas -powered pumps for water, make sure they are fueled and ready. <br />' Be ready to evacuate very quickly. <br />Preparing to Leave <br />' Leave inside lights on and turn on the outside lights. This will allow the facility to be more <br />visible in heavy smoke. <br />If you are trapped in or near the facility <br />• Call 911 <br />' Stay calm. As the fire front approaches, go inside. You can survive inside the facility. The fire <br />will pass before the facility burns down. <br />' When it is safe to do so, check the roof immediately. Put out any roof fires, sparks or embers. <br />Check the space between the roof and ceiling for hidden burning sparks. <br />' For several hours after the fire, maintain a "fire watch."
