Many of the same code violations that existed on April 14, 1992 are <br /> existing today. The following fire code violations shall be immediately corrected: <br /> Plating Room <br /> 1. Provide noncombustible flooring in the plating room. Floors of areas where liquid <br /> or solid hazardous materials are dispensed or used in open systems shall be of <br /> noncombustible, liquid-tight construction. California Fire Code (CFC), Section <br /> 8004.1.3 <br /> 2. Provide ventilation to capture fumes, mists or vapors at the point of generation on <br /> the Nickel Bath tank, Copper Cyanide tank, Acid Copper tank, Chrome tank, <br /> Sulfuric Acid Strip tank, Alum Pre-plate tank and Small Acid Copper tank. CFC, <br /> Sec. 8004.2.2.2 <br /> 3. The secondary containment system, in the plating area, has major degrading and <br /> cracking and is therefore no longer liquid tight. Repair or if needed replace the <br /> secondary containment and apply a protective coating to maintain its integrity. <br /> The secondary containment shall be of ii4. d-tight construction. CFC; Seo. <br /> 8004.2.2.5.2 and 8003.1.3.3 <br /> 4. Label all piping and tubing that convey material. CFC, Sec. 8001.4.3.2 <br /> 5. Repair defective equipment and tanks. Equipment, machinery and systems <br /> associated with hazardous materials shall be maintained in an operable <br /> condition. Defective containers, cylinders and tanks shall be removed from <br /> service, repaired or disposed of in an approved manner.
