Ll <br />IN <br />UniFirst <br />0 <br />Accidental Discharge / Slug Control Plan (ADSL) <br />Spill Contingency Plan <br />ISSUED: March 3, 2011 <br />ISSUED BY: Monte Schlittenhard <br />REVISION: 1 <br />PURPOSE <br />The purpose of this Accidental Discharge / Slug Control Plan and Spill Contingency Plan is to establish an <br />approved method of safely preventing, containing, and countering process wastewater and chemical spills that <br />may occur on the premises of UniFirst Corporation in Stockton, CA. The Slug Plan will also establish <br />procedures for reporting significant discharges to appropriate government agencies. These procedures will be <br />accomplished by delegating responsibilities to employees and/or private contractors. These responsibilities <br />include containing and reporting the discharge, cleanup, and notifying the appropriate government agencies. <br />Such a plan is necessary in order to comply with government regulations and to minimize hazards to human <br />health or the environment <br />SCOPE <br />This ADSC/Spill Contingency Plan is intended to provide guidance for responding to accidental discharges, <br />which involve liquid and solid materials, which may occur on the premises of UniFirst Corporation. The <br />ADSC/ Spill Contingency Plan is located in the Plant Production Manager's office and is readily available for <br />guidance. Response procedures in this ADSC/ Spill Contingency Plan offer guidance for responding to a single <br />uncontrolled discharge that has the potential of releasing hazardous substances into the sanitary sewer and for <br />Hazardous Materials/Chemical Spills. Emergency coordinators are instructed to call the local POTW and/or <br />The State Office of Emergency Services for guidance in the event that mixtures of materials are discharged into <br />the sewer or pose a threat of fire, harm to human health or to the environment. UniFirst Corporation intends to <br />comply with Stockton Municipal Code Section 7-089.1 and EPA regulations concerning SLUG CONTROL <br />by following the guidelines set forth in 40CFR 403.8(f)(2)(v). . UniFirst Corporation also intends to comply <br />with CCR Title 22, Chapter 15, Article 4, beginning with 66265.50. <br />1 Management Approval <br />This ADSC/ Spill Contingency Plan will be implemented as herein described.
