03
Testing Procedure
The following guide line in intended to verify the successful installation of the SEBEF fitting. An
official test might be required in accordance with local regulations.
Suitable Testing Criteria are:
• Dry Fluid Pressure Test—Compressed air, Nitrogen, Helium are the allowed Gaseous Materials.
•Wet Fluid Pressure Test—Filling Fluid Sump Compatible or Water, No Brine(saline) is allowed.
•Hydrostatic Test— Filling Fluid Sump Compatible or Water, No Brine(saline) is allowed.
•Vacuum Test
TIP: By Choosing a testing Protocol it is possible to verify the leak free installation and experience
the system operating pressure/vacuum rates.
Hydrostatic test: The system will be tested using the a selected liquid fluid at a pressure resulting
from the Hydrostatic effect over the system. In case a repair in required, drain the fluid and remove
possible greasy residuals.
Pressure Test: Utilizing pressure will enhance the testing purpose. At the same time a better
strength simulation can be performed. Using Liquid fluids, drain and cleaning procedure are involved
whenever a repair is needed.A Pressure test is suggested to locate possible leaks visually.
Vacuum: Same as the pressure Test with the only difference that it is not possible to visually locate
a possible leak.
Before run the test be sure that the condition listed below are in place:
•Adhesive materials curing time elapsed.
•The secondary pipe has been already properly scraped, wiped with Acetone and inserted
in to the SEBEF fitting already installed as per description onto this manual.
ATTENTION:Make sure that both reducers are in position before begin any welding.
•Because of the fitting purpose, be advised that the pressure test will involve all the parts
connected to the SEBEF Annulus. Make sure that all the openings, test ports, drainages,
are properly plugged, sealed or closed before and during the testing period.
•Because of the same reason above, MAKE SURE that no other testing protocols require
lower pressure. By not respecting this criteria, serious damages can occur to other system
components. The use of a pressure reducer valve is strongly suggested for a better
pressure control.
NOTE:Use ONLY tubin_a.fittings, ball valves, gapes that are proven leak free and properly
sized.
By not respectina this condition a consistent risk to collect false results mlaht come along.
