INTRODUCTION <br />INTRODUCTION <br />FIBER GLASS SYSTEMS <br />PIPE INSTALLATION HANDBOOK <br />UL/ULC Listed Smith Fibercast <br />RED THREAD IIA Product Primary and <br />Secondary Containment Pipe and Fittings <br />This manual is offered to assist in the proper fabrication <br />and installation procedures when assembling Fiber Gass <br />Systems (FGS) piping systems. <br />This manual covers the installation procedures for FGS <br />RED THREAD IIA primary and secondary containment pipe <br />and fittings. <br />Part one details installation procedures for 2", 3", and 4" (50, <br />75, and 100 mm) diameter primary product piping. <br />Part two explains installation procedures for 3", 4" and 6" <br />(75, 100 and 150 mm) diameter secondary containment <br />piping. The 6" (150 mm) secondary containment piping is <br />not UL Listed. <br />ENGINEERING AND PRODUCT DATA: <br />FGS provides Success by Design <br />software to perform flow and other <br />calculations. Included in the CD -Rom <br />is a complete catalog and installation <br />video. Installers should <br />read and follow all cautions and warnings on adhesive kits, <br />heat packs, propane torches, etc. to avoid personal injury. <br />Also, observe general safety practices With all saws, tools, <br />etc. to avoid personal injury. Wear protective clothing when <br />necessary. Make sure work surfaces are clean and stable <br />and that work areas are properly ventilated. <br />INSTALLATION TRAINING SEMINARS <br />Fiber Gass Systems requires installers to attend training <br />every three years by a factory -trained representative. Fiber <br />Glass Systems offers in-depth training seminars covering <br />both primary product and secondary containment piping <br />installation procedures. The training seminar involves hands- <br />on participation, and each attendee receives a complete FGS <br />Smith Fibercast Petroleum Marketing Catalog containing <br />installation manuals used during the seminar. Each installer <br />attending also received documentary proof of attendance. <br />It is recommended that anyone directly involved in <br />underground piping installations attend the FGS Smith <br />Fibercast installation training seminar. For information <br />on training seminars, contact your local distributor or <br />representative. <br />To assist installers With proper installation of fiberglass <br />piping systems, Fiber Gass Systems has prepared a Red <br />Thread IIA Installation Checklist for Underground Petroleum <br />Pipe. This sheet is included in the FGS Smith Fibercast <br />Petroleum Marketing Catalog and accompanies each <br />bundle of pipe.
