These quality assurance <br />procedures exceed the minimum test <br />requirements of Underwriters <br />Laboratories. All UL/ULC Listed RED <br />THREAD IIA molded fittings are <br />100 percent hydrostatically tested <br />per UL/ULC requirements. Also, <br />Smith Fiberglass Products 100% <br />prooftests all piping, which exceeds <br />UL requirements. Secondary <br />containment fittings are also tested <br />in accordance with standards <br />approved by UL/ULC. <br />• Exceptional Flow <br />Characteristics – RED THREAD IIA <br />pipe offers less head loss and <br />greater flow than flexible products <br />with convoluted I.D.'s. Two-inch <br />RED THREAD IIA fiberglass pipe <br />has a nominal 2.235" I.D., and 3 - <br />inch RED THREAD IIA fiberglass <br />pipe has a nominal 3.360" I.D.— <br />much larger than 1 %" through 3" <br />flexible systems. Fiberglass fittings <br />create minimal reductions in I.D., <br />unlike some flexible fittings. <br />RED THREAD IIA PIPE: <br />2.235" I.D. <br />1%" HOSE: <br />1.5" I.D. <br />• Permeability – RED THREAD IIA <br />primary piping exceeds current <br />UL test criteria for permeation by <br />95%. RED THREAD IIA secondary <br />containment piping exceeds the <br />current UL Standards for <br />permeability for secondary <br />containment by 99.2%. <br />• Easy -to -Install Containment <br />Fittings – Female threaded inserts <br />are factory installed in one-half of <br />the two-piece containment fitting. <br />Companion bolts are shipped <br />with each fitting. Simply apply <br />adhesive, drop the bolt in, <br />tighten ... and the joint is <br />complete. <br />• High Pressure/ Temperature <br />Rating – RED THREAD IIA pipe <br />offers cyclic operating pressure <br />ratings of up to 250 psig at 150°F. <br />Its safety factor of 5:1 offers <br />assurance that the primary pipe <br />system is capable of handling <br />pressure spikes. <br />• Thermosetting Properties – <br />Manufactured with thermosetting <br />epoxy resin, RED THREAD IIA pipe <br />won't soften, cold -flow or balloon <br />at its maximum operating <br />temperature of 150°F.
