Walton Engineering 9163731172 P. 01
WALTON
GINEERING, INC.
05 Sep 96
Mr. Michael Kith
Public Health Services, San Joaquin County
via: fax at (209) 468-3433
RE: QUIK STOP 120 - 9321 N. THORNTON ROAD
STOCKTON, CA 95209 - UST REMOVAL AND INSTAL
Dear Mr. Kith: SEP p 61996
In response to your questions regarding our applications:
pROANRl C$
REMOVAL:
Decontamination Procedures: Tanks will be triple rinsed by Wilkey's
Engineering, Inc. (the "General Contractor" for this project). The rinstate,
if stored on site, will be stored in 55 gallon drums prior to off-haul by
BOR Industries. The rinstate will be disposed of at Statewide
Environmental in Los Angeles.
If contaminated'soil is encountered and temporarily stored on site, it will
be hauled off by D&N trucking to Forward Land Fill, 9999 South Austin
Road, Manteca, CA 95336 (209-982-4298).
INSTALL:
The CNI "Fil-Spil" containment box system will be part #36-05, with two
doors and two 5 gallon containment boxes at 16" centers. This system,
with a hydraulic lifting arm between the two containment boxes,
supersedes the use of earlier models and configurations.
It was not our intention to require monitoring the sump below the CNI Fil-
Spil containment system. The sump is not required, and included only for
maintenance ease considerations.
The Veeder Root Hydrostatic Reservoir Sensor will be the Single-Float.
The Dual-Float, I found on additional investigation, is appropriate for
extremely high water levels (at or near the bottom of the tank slab).
The piping leak detector will be the Vaporless LD2000.
I hope this sufficiently answers the questions you raised. I apologize for any
confusions created. Please call me direct at 916-373-1168 if you have any
additional questions. Thank you for your assistance.
QR
,
, AIA
Architectural Department Manager
Attachments
643 Riske Lone,West Socrarnenso. :A
Mailing Address.Po-Box I025,WE
