APPENDIX MI <br /> Procedures for Ultrasonic Thickness Guaging <br /> Prior to Lining of Steel USTs <br /> MI1.0 SCOPE: MI2.1 Consult local authorities prior to the <br /> initiation of any on-site work. <br /> MI1.1 Appendix MI applies only to 40 CFR <br /> 280.2 1(b)(1) where regulation exists requiring MI3.0 CERTIFICATIONS <br /> that ultrasonic thickness guaging be performed <br /> prior to application of an internal lining. This <br /> appendix provides minimum requirements for MI3.1 The contractor shall certify to the tank <br /> ultrasonic thickness guaging of underground owner that the contractor's employees <br /> Performing the work are knowledgeable of all <br /> steel storage tanks that are to be upgraded by <br /> lining where such regulations exist. The the safety procedures of Chapters A of NLPA <br /> procedures described in this appendix are in 631 including sections A2.0 and A5.0 through <br /> addition to the Federal Environmental A9.0 and confined space entry using form BFI <br /> Protection Agency's Underground Storage Tank of chapter B. The employee shall further certify <br /> Technical Requirements of 40 CFR part 280.21 to the owner using form BF2 that he has <br /> T <br /> Tech . performed all work in strict accordance with <br /> Appendix MI and all applicable sections of <br /> Chapter A of this standard. <br /> MI1.2 The inspection and assessment <br /> procedure specified in this appendix shall only MI4.0 ENTRY AND CLEANING <br /> apply to tanks that are required by state <br /> regulations to have ultrasonic thickness guaging <br /> performed prior to lining.
