BOX 2815 -
SACRAMENTO, CA 95812
Detlev E. Hasselmann,
Hasstech. Inc.
6986 Flanders Dr.
San Diego, CA 92121
Dear Mr. Hasselman:
President
April 26, 1993
#93-8
You requested Air Resources Board certification of the OPW-11VAI nozzle
which is an alternate name for the previously approved HP -1000 nozzle. The
only difference' between the OPW and the HP -1000 is that OPW stamps HP -1000
instead of 11VAI on the handle. The HP -1000 was approved by the Air
Resources Board on March 22, 1993.
The Air Resources Board requires the approval from the Division of
Occupational Health and Safety, the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the
Department of Food and Agriculture, Division of Measurement Standards. In
November of 1992 confirmation had been received for the HP -1000 nozzle from
each of these agencies and there was no objection to the certification of
this equipment.
Based on the fact that the OPW-11VAI is identical to the Air Resources
Board - approved HP -1000,. I find that the use of the OPW-11VA-I nozzle will
not adversely affect the performance of gasoline vapor recovery systems on
which they will be installed. Therefore, the OPW-11VAI is approved for use
on Phase II gasoline vapor recovery systems. These nozzles will be
included in the next revision of G-70-7, which lists the Hasstech Phase II
vapor recovery equipment.
If you have any questions, please contact Christine McKenzie at (916)
324-7658 or Laura McKinney at (916) 327-1525.
Sincerely,
/James J.
