Hasselmann
Hasstech, Inc.
8821 Production Avenue
San Diego, CA 92121
Dear Mr. Hasselmann:
Subject: Manual Drain Sumps for Hasstech VCP -2/2A Stage II
Vapor Recovery Systems
This is in response to your letter of January 5, 1983, in which you request
our approval for manual drain sumps to be used with the Hasstech VCP -2/2A
Stage II.(vehicle fueling) vapor recovery systems. The sumps are to be
installed at facilities with vapor recovery piping that cannot drain liquid
gasoline by gravity alone because of the high elevation of the underground
storage tanks relative to the dispensers.
Based on our evaluations, the use of -such sumps with the Hasstech VCP -2/2A
Stage II system should not affect the operation of the system. However,
installations of such sumps is subject to the regulations of the San Diego
Air Pollution Control District and other affected state and local agencies.
If you have any questions, please contact Bob Fletcher of my staff at
(916) 322-6019.
Sincerel
(o—n
Wong- Ch of
ary ource Control Division
cc: Barney McEntire, San Diego APCD
Don Brock, State Fire Marshal's Office
Ben Shelton, Division of Measurement Standards
