0 0
HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN
UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
AND
INSTALLATION PROJECT
GTE California Inc.
1.0 INTRODUCTION
1. This Health and Safety Plan (Plan) will be in effect during all
construction activity related to the underground storage tank removal &
installation project at the GTE facility located at 430 W. Center Street,
Manteca, California. The plan considers the flammability of, and potential
exposures from organic vapors in the tank and potentially contaminated
soil containing elevated levels of petroleum hydrocarbons and volatile
organic compounds. This plan addresses issues such as the correct protocol
to follow in case of injury. The project entails removal and replacement of
one underground storage tank.
2. The Contractor will be responsible for the implementation of this
Plan and will follow all Federal and State Health and Safety regulations
during construction activity.
3. All employees will be screened every five working days to ensure
workers conform to site safety plan procedures.
4. All employee inspections and training records will be maintained for
three years.
