Health & Safety Plan <br /> 2.0 PERSONNEL <br /> 1 . Health and Safety Officer: <br /> The On-Site Health and Safety Officer will be Mr. John Moore of CPEI <br /> Corporation. He will be available during the briefing of field personnel and <br /> contractors during tailgate meeting(s)--prior to project initiation and <br /> during operations, as appropriate--on hazard assessment, personal <br /> protective equipment, and implementation of the Plan. He will also monitor <br /> field personnel and contractors during construction activities. GTE and the <br /> Contractor will be appropriately notified of observed Health and Safety <br /> violations or deficiencies. <br /> 3.0 CONTAMINANTS <br /> 1 . This specific Plan is based on the potential for exposure to soils and <br /> liquids containing petroleum hydrocarbons such as organic solvents. <br /> Volatile organic compounds potentially present in the soils and in the <br /> tanks may include: <br /> *benzene <br /> butyl acetate <br /> ethyl benzene <br /> methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) <br /> *toluene <br /> *xylenes <br /> Material Safety Data Sheets are included in Appendix A <br />
