W, <br />DA RT TWO <br />I'n'stallation Instructions for condary Containment Piping <br />s �H <br />Before beginning any installation, it <br />is important that all crew members <br />read and be familiar with the instal- <br />lation procedures described in this <br />manual. <br />The secondary containment piping <br />system is designed for use with RED <br />THREAD IIA product pipe. The sec- <br />ondary containment system consists <br />of the next larger size pipe and special <br />two-piece fittings. Smith Fiberglass <br />Products also offers a patented"' tele- <br />scoping containment pipe system <br />which allows 100 percent inspection <br />of primary piping. Refer to Part Three. <br />Many of the procedures used for in- <br />stalling product pipe and fittings are <br />also used for installing secondary <br />containment pipe and fittings. Refer <br />to Part One for installation instruc- <br />tions for product pipe and fittings and <br />18ERCLASS <br />2.1.1 Secondary containment pipe <br />Smith Fiberglass Products secondary <br />containment piping sizes are as fol- <br />lows: <br />to Bulletin No. F6600 for tapering <br />tool operating instructions. <br />Useful sections of Part One: <br />Section 1 - Storage and Handling <br />Section 2 - Layout and Preparation <br />Section 3 - Tool and Equipment List <br />Note: For installation of bolts,use <br />one of the following: <br />1. 3/8 -inch variable impact wrench <br />with 7/16 -inch socket. <br />2. 1/4 -inch variable speed drill motor <br />with 7/16 -inch socket and 7/16 - <br />inch wrench. <br />3. one 7/16 -inch wrench. <br />For installing saddles, the following <br />equipment is recommended: <br />1. Sanding equipment <br />a. power sander with rough sur- <br />face sanding disc (flexible pad <br />with 40 grit or less disc), or <br />b. hand file (coarse) <br />2. Fine-tooth circular hole saw with <br />pilot drill <br />3. Hose clamps or Band -it") banding <br />tool large enough to secure saddles <br />to pipe. (If banding is used, the <br />Band -It banding tool is preferred <br />because this tool does not leave <br />slack in the band when the tool is <br />removed.
