12/06/01 <br />17J <br />SBC Services, Inc. (Pacific & Nevada Bell) <br />SB 989 Testing Protocol and Procedures <br />Protocol: <br />1) Tank Annular Space. <br />a) Identify tank manufacturer. If manufacturer is unknown, CALL <br />OFFICE PRIOR TO STARTING THE TEST!!!! <br />b) Tested per manufacturers recommendations <br />2) Dispenser Pan. <br />a) Bravo equipment test per manufacturers recommendations <br />b) All others tested at industry standard based on a 24 hour hydrostatic <br />test <br />3) Product line secondary containment <br />a) Identify Secondary Containment manufacturer. If manufacturer is <br />unknown CALL OFFICE PRIOR TO STARTING THE TESTI <br />b) Tested per manufacturers recommendations <br />4) Tank sumps. <br />a) Tested at industry standard based on a 24 hour hydrostatic test <br />Dispenser Pans and Dispenser Sumps <br />1. Open dispenser covers. <br />2. Monitor pan for hazardous conditions, 02 or LEL. Maintain below LEL <br />3. Inspect for open, broken or defective electrical fittings and repair. <br />4. Clean solid waste from dispenser pan/sump and place in 5 gallon labeled <br />waste pale. <br />5. Inspect penetration seal off fittings and tighten or repair as needed. <br />6. Add water to a level 2" above the conduit and pipe penetrations. <br />7. Install testing probe and zero digital meter once level stabilizes. <br />8. For Bravo dispenser pans, using a stopwatch, take a level reading at the end <br />of 6 minutes <br />9. If level drop exceeds .010 inches in 6 minutes, the dispenser pan fails. <br />10. For all other dispenser pans/sumps <br />11. If level drops more than .004 inches in 24 minutes the pan/sump fails <br />12. Record results on standard test report <br />13. Locate leaks, repair and retest if possible. <br />14. Pump out water and retain as testing fluid. <br />15. For dispenser pans with a float system connected to the sheer valve, vacuum <br />dry and confirm float operation. <br />16. Close Dispenser covers. <br />17. Repeat for each dispenser. <br />
