t <br />"L <br />2.04 UNDERGROUND FUEL ST GE TANK AND PIPING LEAK DET ION SYSTEM <br />A. Purpose: To indicate presence of water or hydrocarbons near leak probe. <br />B. Components: <br />1. A central leak detection alarm panel with an audible alarm and indicator lights. <br />2. Digital leak sensing probes with cables of sufficient length. <br />C. Probe Monitoring Capability: 15 probes with one control unit. <br />D. Product Listings: FM and UL listed for use with hydrocarbon fuels. System components, except alarm <br />panel, shall be instrinsically safe for Class 1, Division 1, Group D hazardous atmospheres. <br />E. Tanks Monitored: Each fuel tank. Provide method of identifying specific tank responsible for an alarm. <br />F. Sensor Locations: <br />1. Tank interstitial space of each underground fuel storage tank. <br />2. Spill/Overfill Containment sump and dispenser containment sump box. <br />3. Install additional sensors as required by LIA. <br />4. Sensor Sensitivity: <br />a. Detection of an 1/8 inch layer minimum oil -in -water of hydrocarbons floating on water, factory pre- <br />set to 1/4 inch. <br />b. 2 inch detection depth of hydrocarbons on a dry surface. <br />G. Control Panel: <br />1. NEMA 4 enclosure for permanent installation indoors or outdoors. <br />2. Provide keyboard for entry of alarm conditions and relay closures. <br />3. Probe conditions indicated on liquid crystal display shall be water, hydrocarbons, or dry by probe <br />number. <br />4. Display "alert" conditions to external alarms, and "leak" conditions for primary alarms. <br />5: A power "on" light shall be provided to indicate panel "on99 condition. <br />6. Provide test buttons on panel for testing for water, hydrocarbons or dry condition. <br />H. External Interfaces: <br />1. Capable of operating up to four relays. <br />2. Program -selectable for normally open or normally closed 3 amp 120/240 volts AC maximum loads. <br />3. Integral RS -232C data output port. <br />I. Circuitry: Microprocessor based system, with permanent non-volatile memory backup, and internal circuit <br />breaker. <br />J. Monitoring Locations: <br />1. Monitor tank at interstitial space and secondary fuel containment sump, and other locations required by <br />a- 4 regulations. <br />2. Note: Local Implementing Agency Regulations may be more stringent than drawings show.
