Level A PPE: <br />Full encapsulation chemical protective suit, positive pressure demand self-contained <br />breathing apparatus, disposable Tyvek coveralls as the over garment. <br />Level B PPE: <br />Positive pressure demand self-contained breathing apparatus or supplied -air respirator <br />in positive pressure mode, 5 -minute escape bottle worn on hip, chemical protective suit <br />(permeable Tyvek or impermeable coated Tyvek or Saranex coveralls for splash <br />hazards), chemical protective gloves, inner surgical gloves, chemical protective boots <br />with steel toe and steel shank, and hard hat. <br />Level C PPE: <br />Full face or half face air purifying respirator, chemical protective suit (permeable Tyvek <br />or impermeable coated Tyvek or Saranex coveralls for splash hazards), chemical <br />protective gloves, chemical protective boots with steel toe and steel shank, hard hat, <br />and safety glasses if half face respirator is worn. <br />Level D PPE: <br />Tyvek coveralls, hard hat, work boots with steel toe and steel shank, safety glasses, <br />and work gloves. <br />Specific PPE requirements applicable to each job task depends on the chemical <br />hazards and physical agents associated to the task as described in Section 5 above. <br />The following PPE ensembles are assigned to project related tasks. <br />Task PPE Ensemble <br />Work plan preparation N/A <br />Fill bucket exposure Level D <br />Site Control: <br />Initial Site Entry: <br />1. The PM shall arrange an initial briefing of site conditions with all PP. Based on the <br />information obtained and the nature and/or magnitude of known or suspected onsite <br />contaminants and the work plan tasks, the HSO shall determine initial site entry <br />procedures and describe them below. It is the responsibility of the SSO to <br />implement and direct these procedures. <br />2. PPE to be worn by personnel during initial site entry: <br />Level D with respirator available. <br />(a) Respirator shall be halk mask with organic vapor cartridges (color -coded <br />black and gray) <br />(b) In the event that Level C PPE is required for initial site entry, then all <br />personnel must carry a 5 -minute escape air bottle. <br />Initial Site Entry Procedures: <br />1. Level D PPE as outlined below. Air monitoring with portable photojonization <br />detector (OVM). <br />12 <br />
