Isolation of the tank. <br />2. Purging the tank of explosive fumes. <br />I <br />3. Entering the tank. <br />4. Cleaning and sandblasting. <br />5. Application of the NSS 37E Liner. <br />6. Tank closure and testing. <br />1. GENERAL <br />A. In addition to obtaining the required permits, etc., the <br />Contractor will obtain the approval of the local Fire Marshall <br />and/or the regulating authorities, where required. <br />B. The scope of the contract covers a turnkey job including, but not <br />limited to, excavation, opening tank, safe removal and disposal of <br />bottom sediment and water, tank surface preparation, liner <br />application, testing and closure of the tank and finishing of <br />grade to its original surface. <br />C. NORCAP Sales and Services instructions are to be followed in the <br />handling, mixing and application of the resin compounds. <br />D. There will be a CONTRACTOR'S employee on hand at all times, <br />who understands lead hazard and the fire and explosion <br />potential.as he will be responsible for maintaining a safe <br />environment in the work area. <br />E. The CONTRACTOR shall be familiar and comply with the relevant <br />procedures established by all Federal, State and Municipal <br />mandates. <br />F. Owner or his agent will remove the free product from the tank, <br />leaving the bottom sediment and water for removal by the <br />CONTRACTOR. Bottom sediment and water shall be disposed of by the <br />owner or his agent in a safe manner that is acceptable to the <br />Local, State and Federal regulatory agencies. <br />G. Before any work is done, the work area is to be barricaded and the <br />required danger and caution signs posted. The area is to be kept <br />free of sources of ignition during the work period. <br />H. The CONTRACTOR will have on hand, a properly maintained and tested <br />portable fire extinguisher, with a minimum Underwriter Laboratory <br />extinguisher rating of 12 B. <br />0 <br />
