SPILL CONTROL AND CLEANUP I'VIETHODS <br />This plan addremks unauthorized releases from UST systems and supplements the emergency rvsponw- plans and procedures in the facility's Hazardous Materials <br />Business Plan. <br />If safe to do so, facility personnel will rake immediate measures to control or stop WLyTCICdSC (C g., aclivale pump shut-01T, ctc.)aud, if necessary, safely remove <br />remaining hazardous material from the UST syNlein. <br />Any release to secondary containment will Le pumped or olhetwiscremoycd within atinte consistent with the abiliq of the secondary containment system to <br />contain the ha7Ardous material, but not Beater than 30 calendar days, or sooner if required by the local agency. Recovered hazardous materials, unless still suitable <br />for their intended use, will be managed as hazardous waste. <br />Absorbent material will he used to contain and clean up nianagvable spills of hazardous materials. Absorbent material ntaN be reused until iLbcomcs too <br />saturated to N. effective. It will then be managed property. Used absorbent material, reusable or Nvasic, will be stored in a properly labeled and jgle container. <br />FacilitN personnel will determine wNther or not any water TLnIovcd front secondar% containment systems. or from clean-up activity, has been in contact with any <br />hazardous material- If the water is contaminated. it will be managed as hazardous waste.
