RECEIVED
C 13 2013
File No. 125819.E01 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
December 11, 2013
PERMIT/SERVICES
Mr. Josiah Hall, P.E.
Construction Engineer
PARSONS BRINKERHOFF
2329 Gateway Oaks Drive, Suite 200
Sacramento, CA 95833
Subject: Report
Excavation, Limited Soil Sampling and Analyses
Former Underground Storage Tank
5784 S. French Camp Road
French Camp, California
Dear Mr. Hall:
This report presents analytical results for soil samples collected in the vicinity of a
former underground storage tank (UST) at the above-referenced site and includes a
summary of UST removal, field activities, observations, conclusions and
recommendations.
BACKGROUND, INITIAL SITE OBSERVATIONS AND TESTING
During roadway grading activities for the 1-5 French Camp Interchange project a UST
was uncovered along the east side of French Camp Road on September 18, 2013. The
top of the tank was reportedly about one foot below ground surface and was oriented
lengthwise parallel to the roadway (Plate 2). No piping was observed by contractors
during discovery or removal of the UST. PARSONS BRINKERHOFF (PB) contacted
Kleinfelder to evaluate the tank conditions and to provide recommendations. Kleinfelder
subsequently observed an uncovered metal UST located on plastic sheeting on the east
side of French Camp Road near the reported address of 5784 S. French Camp Road.
The tank had been removed when Kleinfelder arrived at the site. According to PB, the
UST was excavated from a reported location approximately 500 feet north of Yettner
Road and south of the Sperry Road extension being constructed (Plate 1).
