9. AST will withstand frost-hcave XX Yes No AST is anchored to concrete wall, in a steel berm, and is
located in a covered secured lubricants enclosure not submit to weather conditions
10. AST previously relocated? Yes XX No
11 . AST Corrosion Protection Tank is covered in paint, with no evidence of external corrosion. Tank has
no specific corrosion protection beyond the paint. No part of the AST touches the around. The base of the
AST is steel, raised 1_ inch from the steel berm floor. There is no evidence of internal corrosion taking place.
Tank's construction material is carbon steel. As this tank is not in any contact with the ground, there is no
need for further corrosion protection such as cathodic corrosion protection.
12. AST Spill Prevention Equipment Filling is a remote operation via external pumps. Product is not handled
outside of the intended containers. Tank has secondary containment via steel berm which has adequate
eoniainment capacity to contain 100% of the product of both tanks set in the berm. Pumps have a check
valve to prevent sinhoning , from tank back thru i k up hQaes. Tank has continuous electronicmonitorin
with BJ Enterprises 007 audible-visible alarm pt the tanks,, whichwhen actuated flash strobe light & also
operate a siren alarm at 103dB. Hydraulic hose pick ups are stored uprriaht when not in use to prevent
spiligge from drainage of product remaining in the hose after filling operations. The filling system also has
manual ball-valve shut downs at the pumps and at the tanks.
13 . Overfill Protection : Product is not normally handled outside of intended containers. Filling operations are
achieved by connecting waste coolant caddies to a quick connect device and pneumatic air connection and
pumping directly from the waste coolant caddy into the tank. Pump system in steel cabinet has an electronic
alarm at the pumps. The BJ Enterprises 007 audible-visual alarms, were tested & found to be in good
working condition. AST product supply system has manually operated ball"valve shut downs at the pumps
and also at the tanks.
14. Toxic Considerations: Antifreeze is toxic to humans and animals ._ Waste antifreeze contains heavy metals
such as lead cadmium, and chromium in high enough levels to potentially make it a regulated hazardous
wast so most states strictly r _ . la#e antifr ze di ttl. Antifreeze enerators and state and local programs
should not dump spent antifreeze on land or discharge it into a sanitary sewer, storm drain, ditch , dry well, or
septic system : dumping antifreeze can cause serious water quality problems and might harm people, pets, or
wildlife.
15 . AST secondary containment (materialldesign/listed) AST has secondary containment via steel berm to
completely capture any leaks from primary vessel. Secondary containment was inspected , is intact and AST
is suitable for continued usage. AST sits within a secured -covered lubricants enclosure . Leak detection is
visually ascertained via visual inspection of secondary containment area. Steel thickness of the secondary
containment was measured to . 109 in. steel thickness average. 20 points were measured on the berm. The
berm SgUtainment capacity is 598 gals. gross containmenL with 456 als. containment after displacement.
16. Damage to AST or systems. No damage reported by Owner/OMrator. Upon_ inspection, no evidence of
weld breaks, punctures, cracks , or other structural damage to the tank. _ Leak detection is assured via
inspections of the secondar containment. Steel thickness of the primary vessel was measured to . 109 in .
average. Steel thickness of the berm was measured to . 109 in. average.
