Page 4 <br /> Cabral Property <br /> February 28, 2006 <br /> QUALITY CONTROL/QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> Personal Protective Equipment <br /> A new pair of disposable nitrile gloves will be worn during each soil and/or groundwater <br /> sampling activity. <br /> Equipment Decontamination <br /> Decontamination of sampling equipment will include thoroughly cleansing and rinsing the <br /> equipment with Alconox prior to each sampling event. <br /> Sample Containers <br /> Soil and groundwater sample will be placed in laboratory approved containers. The samples will <br /> be packed in ice immediately after collection. Each sample will be logged into a chain-of-custody <br /> document, which will accompany the samples. <br /> Chemical Testing <br /> Chemical testing will be performed by a laboratory certified in California (SunStar Laboratories, <br /> Inc.) for the test methods performed during this effort. <br /> STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS <br /> Raney Geotechnical, Inc. is a geotechnical and environmental engineering firm located in West <br /> Sacramento, California. The firm was founded in 1979; current professional staff includes four <br /> engineers, three geologists, a California Certified Asbestos Consultant, and a Nevada Certified <br /> Environmental Manager. The firm was involved in environmentally related geotechnical and <br /> hydrological studies as early as 1981, shortly after the enactment of the Superfund legislation. <br /> These early environmentally driven studies were performed for uranium and coal mining clients <br /> in the mountain west, and included regional geology, groundwater quality, soil chemistry, surface <br /> water hydrology, and geotechnical engineering. Underground tank corrective action projects <br /> were undertaken beginning in 1988. The firm has performed more than 100 Phase I and II toxic <br /> audits and/or assessments within the last year, and is used as a consultant by a number of major <br /> banks. Studies have included heavy industrial and military sites, as well as thousand-plus acre <br /> properties. <br /> The firm's principal, John Raney, was educated as a Civil Engineer at the University of the <br /> Pacific. Mr. Raney received a Master of Science degree in Geotechnical Engineering from U.C. <br /> Berkeley. Prior to founding Raney Geotechnical, Mr. Raney was a project engineer in both the <br /> San Francisco and Salt Lake City offices of Dames & Moore. Raney Geotechnical's <br /> environmental manager, Joe Brusca, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the <br /> University of California at Davis, California.
