Initial "screening" soil sampling/analysis was performed in October <br /> 2005. Additional sampling was performed in March 2006. The purpose of the sampling has <br /> been to evaluate the extent and distribution of organochlorine pesticides, lead, arsenic, and <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in near-surface soils near the farm structures and within the orchard <br /> areas at the subject site. This report presents descriptions of the sampling activities and the <br /> laboratory results. <br /> A Vicinity Map showing the location of the subject property is presented on Plate 1. A Plot <br /> Plan showing the general layout of the property and orchard sampling locations is presented as <br /> Plate 1. Maps showing soil sample locations near an existing residence and outbuildings are <br /> presented as Plates 3 through 6. Summaries of the soil analytical data are presented on Tables 1, <br /> II, and III. Copies of the laboratory reports and chain-of-custody documentation are appended. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND <br /> The subject property is located within an established residential area of Stockton, San Joaquin <br /> County, California. The approximate 12.81-acre site is accessed by a private road that fronts on <br /> North Sutter Street, approximately 450 feet to the west. The subject property is bounded by the <br /> Calaveras River corridor to the north, by vacant land and an abandoned cherry orchard to the <br /> east, and by a former railroad easement and residential property to the south. The Sierra <br /> Christian Elementary School, the easterly terminus of Fargo Street, and residential property are <br /> situated adjacent to and westerly of the subject property.
