Page 3
Cabral—Mc Adams Property
April 28,2006
Job No. 1828-092.01
residence addressed as 4204 North Sutter Street (see Plate 5). Six surface soil samples were
collected at the locations S 18 through S23 near the former garage/workshop area (see Plate 6).
March 2006 Soil Sampling
Because notable concentrations of arsenic, lead, and organochlorine pesticides were detected in
some of the October 2005 soil samples collected from areas within and near the mentioned on-
site structures, we recommended additional soil sampling to further characterize the lateral and
vertical extent of soil contamination within these areas. Our firm prepared a Workplan for the
additional sampling dated February 28, 2006.2
On March 29 and 31, 2004 we collected near surface soil samples at the 20 additional locations
shown on Plates 3 through 6 (locations S24 through S43); at each of these locations soil samples
were collected at the surface (directly below the organic/root zone) and at a depth of
approximately one foot. We also collected soil samples at a depth of one foot from the previous
(October 2005) sampling locations S9, SIO, S13, S14, S17, S18, S19, and S22; the surface soil
samples from these locations had contained notable concentrations of one or more of the tested
analytes.
LABORATORY ANALYSIS
The collected soil samples were submitted to a State-certified laboratory (Sunstar Laboratories,
Inc.; ELAP No. 2250) for analysis; the one-foot soil samples collected from location S24
through S43 were held pending the results of the near surface soil samples collected at these
locations.
The soil samples from the areas of the orchard, woodbarn, workshop, garage, and the former
garage/workshop were analyzed for one or more of the following: arsenic, lead, organochlorine
pesticides, total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline, TPH as motor oil, and TPH as
diesel. During our initial October 2005 "screening" soil sampling work, two-part composite soil
samples were created at the laboratory from soils collected at locations S 1 through S14, S22 and
S23. A three-part composite soil sample was created at the laboratory from the soils collected at
locations S18 through S20. The results of the soil analyses are summarized on the attached
Tables I, II, and IIl. Copies of the laboratory reports and chain-of-custody documentation are
appended.
2 Raney Geotechnical, Inc.; "Workplan, Additional Environmental Investigation, Cabral Property, APNs 115-230-
06, and-07,4202 through 4208 Sutter Street, Stockton, California"; February 28,2006,Raney Reference No. 1828-
092.01.
