03/07 - 03/08/2018 - Patriot Environmental received a call from the USCG to respond to a <br /> commercial fishing vessel on a mooring in Newport Beach Harbor, Orange County, CA. The <br /> vessel was declared derelict for at least a year, was taking on water and had pollution on board <br /> that was in danger of being released. Patriot Project Manager met with USCG and a company <br /> representative from Patriot sub-contractor Sea Tow service to examine the vessel. Sea Tow <br /> proceeded as directed by USCG personnel to remove the vessel from its mooring, move it to a <br /> safe location. Patriot was directed to proceed with removal of all pollution-related materials that <br /> were on board. Hazardous materials were removed by hand from the vessel and an oil-water <br /> mixture was pumped from the bilge compartment utilizing a 70 barrel vacuum truck. Wastes <br /> were properly segregated,packaged according to DOT regulations, transported and disposed of. <br /> Resources: <br /> Personnel: 1 Project Manager <br /> 2 Field Supervisors <br /> 2 Field Technicians <br /> 1 Equipment Operator <br /> Equipment: 2 Response Trucks <br /> 1 Response Trailer <br /> 1 70-bbl Vacuum Truck <br /> 03/09/2018 — California Resources Company (CRC) experienced a leak in a 3" gathering line <br /> from Shiells Well 203 containing produced water and crude oil located at Guiberson Rd. <br /> Fillmore, CA. An estimated 15 bbls of produced water and crude oil mixture resulted from the <br /> leak. An estimated 5-6 bbls of the release traveled southwest down grade from the release point <br /> into a dry natural erosion channel. The oil/water mixture then traveled approximately 500 feet <br /> northeast down a ravine where it pooled up. CRC isolated and shut down the gathering line <br /> upstream from the leak. Patriot Environmental crews and equipment were dispatched for liquid <br /> recovery by vacuum truck and soil remediation by hand. Patriot utilized a subcontractor to crane <br /> out bagged soil waste that was placed into roll off bin containers. Follow-up activities included <br /> interface with regulatory agencies, waste management, transportation and disposal.
