CA ARNG Field Quality Assurance Project Plan <br /> • Work performed; <br /> • Sampling performed,including specifics(e.g.,number of samples collected,borings drilled,wells <br /> sampled,etc.); <br /> • Quality control activities included; <br /> • Field parameter measurements including calibration checks; <br /> • Problems encountered and corrective actions taken; <br /> • Next day's work schedule;and <br /> • Signature of individual completing the report. <br /> Sample Labels <br /> 9.1.9.14 A sample label will be affixed to all sample containers sent to the laboratory.This <br /> identification label will be completed with the following information: <br /> • Projectname and location; <br /> • Sample location; <br /> • Field identification number; <br /> • Date and time of sample collection; <br /> • Initials of sampler; <br /> • Preservative used;and <br /> • Analysis required. <br /> 9.1.9.15 After the samples have been collected and the information is entered onto the groundwater <br /> sampling log,a COC record will be completed,as described below. <br /> Chain-of-Custody Forms <br /> 9.1.9.16 Chain-of-custody procedures provide an accurate written record tracing the possession of <br /> individual samples from the time of field collection through laboratory analysis.A sample is considered <br /> in custody if it is: <br /> • In a person's possession; <br /> • In a secure area after having been in physical possession by a person;and <br /> • In a designated secure area,restricted to authorized personnel. <br /> 1 <br /> field QAPP.DOC 9-17 May 2000 <br />
