All project work shall be preformed in a manner consistent with providing a safe work <br /> environment. A list of general safety guidelines which are applicable include: <br /> • Wear appropriate protective clothing for the job, including, but not limited to hard <br /> hats, work clothing, safety boots, work gloves and eye protection. <br /> • Decontaminate known sources of contamination at the location established for <br /> decontamination. Remove equipment only after decontamination or <br /> containerization. <br /> • Plan activities thoroughly ahead of time: enter work sites by a designated route only <br /> to get to a designated point for a specific purpose. <br /> • Wash hands thoroughly upon leaving an area of suspected contamination. <br /> • Never assume that a working area is as safe as it appears to be. <br /> • Be alert to any unusual behavior on the part of other workers which might indicate <br /> distress, disorientation or other ill effects. Be alert to any unusual change in your <br /> i <br /> own condition; never ignore warning signs or hesitate to report them at once. Inform <br /> each other of symptoms of nausea, dizziness, headache or respiratory or eye <br /> irritation. <br /> • Maintain a clean and organized work area. ' <br /> • Label raw materials, debris, scrap, waste, intermediate and contaminated clothing, <br /> with appropriate and understandable precautionary labels. <br /> • Rost areas of high noise levels and require personal protective equipment. <br /> • Inspect fire extinguishers for adequate pressure. <br /> • Inspect emergency eyewash for proper operation daily before work begins. <br /> • All eating and smoking is restricted to outside the designated work area. <br /> 4.0 JOB HAZARD SUMMARY <br /> These are potential hazards associated with the work to be completed at the R & L <br /> facility.
