There will be no on-site activities conducted without sufficient backup personnel. At a <br /> minimum, two persons must be present during on-site activities. Visual, voice or radio <br /> communication will be maintained at all times. <br /> There will be no eating, drinking, application of cosmetics or smoking on the site. <br /> Project personnel shall bring to the attention of the designated FSS any unsafe condition or <br /> practice associated with on-site project-related activities. <br /> All boring, excavation, heavy equipment operation and general construction activities shall <br /> be performed in compliance with 29 CFR 1926. <br /> All project personnel who are required to wear purifying or air supplied respirators must first <br /> meet the training and medical requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 and 20 CFR 1910.134. <br /> No contact lenses may be worn within 20 feet of drilling activity ("hot zone"). <br /> 7.1 Control of Work Area <br /> Prior to the start of work the work area shall be controlled to reduce the possibility of injury <br /> to workers or pedestrians. Control of the area will be accomplished by, but not limited to, <br /> the following: <br /> Setting up physical barriers to exclude unnecessary personnel from the area and posting <br /> appropriate signage. <br /> Establish the working zones (Exclusion Zone, Support Zone and Clean Zone) within the wk rk <br /> site. <br /> Minimize the number of personnel and equipment in the work area consistent with effective <br /> operations. <br /> Establish control points to regulate access to work zones. <br /> 7.2 Drill Rig Safety Guidelines <br /> Drill rig maintenance and safety is the responsibility of the drilling operator. The <br /> following information is provided as general guidelines for safe practices on the site: <br /> • No food or beverage will be consumed or stored in the operational area. <br /> • The route of travel before moving the drill rig off-road should be inspected. <br /> Rocks, trees, erosion, power lines and uneven surfaces should be noted. <br /> • No passengers shall be permitted in the cab while moving the drill rig into <br /> rough or sloped terrain. <br /> CRC Environmental Risk Management,Inc.
