The following project components have been
designed in coordination of the Stockton Metropolitan Airport Special Purpose Plan (SPP) as
follows:
Overall site planning
The SPP proposes "Warehouse & Distribution/Air Cargo/Flex" for the proposed site. The
proposed use is Air Cargo and fits within the proposed SPP Land Use activity for the area.
The proposed site improvements have been designed to provide for an air cargo facility at the
Stockton airport. The site is currently undeveloped. The improvements will provide for access to
the airport for delivery cargo to be safely unloaded, sorted and loaded onto trucks for eventual
delivery. Site improvements include a 56,000 square foot structure which will facilitate the off-
loading of cargo into the new structure, sortation and loading onto trucks for delivery. There is an
administrative area within the building served by underground utilities, paved parking providing
146 parking spaces including 6 ADA spaces, 25 truck loading bays and a stormwater
management system.
Off-site and on-site vehicle circulation
The proposed improvements have been designed to segregate the trucking movements from the
passenger vehicles and pedestrians. Trucks will enter the site from Arch Airport Road to South B
Street and then onto the site. The intersections provide ample turning movements for the WB-67
design vehicle. Once on-site, trucks will proceed south to the loading bays. On-site passenger
vehicles will proceed easterly into the 146-space parking area which is segregated from the truck
staging area. The passenger vehicle parking area has been designed to provide looped aisles so
there are no dead-end parking bays. The site is surrounded by safety/security fencing to separate
site activities from the airport.
The proposed driveway has been positioned to line up with E Earnhart Avenue so that traffic is
coordinated at the intersection. The driveway will be lined with native grasses and wayfinding
signs will be installed to direct drivers to the passenger vehicle parking lot in the front of the
building and the truck docks along the north side of the building.
220 Norwood Park South,Suite 201 - Norwood,MA 02062 - T(781) 619-9500 - www.blcompanies.com
