Paints chemicals and their containers <br /> Various types of Solvents MAR 0 2 2016 <br /> Dirt and water that come in contact with oil or other hazardous materials �� £ ¥ N <br /> i <br /> Corrosive / toxic materials —batteries and chemicals <br /> Metal cuttings —fillings (those by the cutoff saw and hose crimper . ) <br /> All spills shall be contained and cleaned up immediately and disposed into the designated hazmat <br /> disposal containers . <br /> If you should have a question regarding an unknown material being hazardous, immediately ask your <br /> supervisor for determination and handling instructions . <br /> All hazardous waste must be identified and stored in an approved storage container, sealed , labeled <br /> and removed from site within 90 days of an empty hazardous waste storage container coming onto site . <br /> Containers shall be sealed immediately after placing hazardous waste in to a container . The only time a <br /> container can be left open is when you have multiple containers that need to be emptied . The storage <br /> container cannot be left open on a daily basis . If the container gets full prior to the 90 day window of <br /> being picked up contact your supervisor and notify him the containers are full so the container can be <br /> picked up and a new empty container may be delivered . <br /> Waste oil tank needs to be inspected daily and documented , if a leak is found , advise your supervisor <br /> immediately and contain the leak appropriately by using onsite spill kits . Any leakage into a Secondary <br /> containment area must be cleaned up within 24 hours of noticing leak. <br /> All hazardous waste storage containers that contain solids such as grease sweep mixed will oil/grease , <br /> dirt mixed with oil/fuel , metal filings, dirt, mud from steam rack, and battery storage shall be inspected <br /> weekly and documented . Staff will be designated to perform these inspections . <br /> When using the steam rack no water or other material should exit the steam rack area , if you observe <br /> liquid approaching the storm drain , turn the steam plant off immediately and use items from the spill <br /> kit located in steam rack area , contain the liquid and advise your supervisor Immediately . Any solid <br /> material , left over matter from steaming shall be picked up and disposed of immediately . After <br /> completing steam job dump said material into an appropriate hazmat container . <br />
